CANOPUS LAKE

Located in Fahnestock Park. Boats are allowed to be launched here with a permit that can be obtained at the park manager. Electric motors allowed.

Fish species: Largemouth Bass, Chain Pickerel, Brown Bullhead, Bluegill, Black Crappie and Yellow Perch

 

LAKE MAHOPAC

Town of Carmel, Mahopac and Kent residents are allowed to launch boats, kayaks and canoes free of charge at Chamber Park. All others may launch any type of boat, kayak or canoe at either the marinas on the lake (Mahopac Marina and MacDonald Marine). You can use gas motors and electric motors on this lake.

Fish Species: Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Chain Pickerel, Rock Bass, Black Crappie, Pumpkinseed, Bluegill, Redbreast Sunfish, Yellow Perch and Brown Bullhead

 

PELTON POND

Located in Fahnestock Park. No boats allowed.

Fish species: Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Panfish and Bullheads

 

PUDDING ST. POND

Boat launch is at California Hill Rd. Boats, Kayaks and Canoes allowed. Electric motors only,

Fish Species: Largemouth Bass, Chain Pickerel, Bluegill, Black Crappie, Yellow Perch and Brown Bullhead.

 

STILLWATER POND

Located in Fahnestock Park. Kayaks and Canoes allowed. Permit required and can be obtained from Park Manager.

WHITE POND

Boat launch available. You can use Rowboats, Kayaks or Canoes on here. Electric motors only.

Lake Mohansic

Located in FDR Park. A permit is required to launch a boat here and can be obtained from at the park office. You can also rent boats here.

Swan Lake

Located in the Rockefeller State Park Preserve. No boats allowed.

Fish Species: Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Pumpkinseed, Yellow Perch, Black Crappie and Brown Bullhead
